This year was fast. And when I say fast, I mean you didn’t even see the end coming (though really it is cold and doesn’t feel like summer). My favourite thing of the entire year was going to Me-To-We and seeing the Dalai Llama. This was easily my most favourite thing of the year. We saw many famous artists, and advocates for human rights. Well, to sum up this year, we had lots of fun, and made the last year of elementary school a thing to remember

Last Few weeks
April23
Meh, the last few weeks have gone by fast, I think that our trip to the sledge hockey game was just yesterday.
Well I spent the few weeks just mucking around and daydreaming, though I did pay some attention. The week after the break was scary, we had the dance teacher and I do not like learning how to shake my hands, so easy it’s silly. Our song was some “tribal dance” thing. It sounded more like Taco pants.
The most memorable moment I can remember at the moment is when our buddies came scrapbooking with us. My buddy was completely distracted and just started staring at the wall. When coloring he would completely forget what he was doing, it was funny trying to bring him back to earth.
We got to see a video of our performance; I was embarrassed due to me being visible ¾ of the time. I made a few obvious errors because I wasn’t paying attention. Then we got to see a younger brother of one student dancing. That was funny.
Soccer, the most played sport in the world. At school we play grade 7 vs. Grade 5/other. Even though the little dudes tend to have 5-1 ratio against us, we tend to win do to how rough we play the game. A few grade fives have decided that it would e fine to shove, kick, punch, grab… the grade 7 students; this is not a smart move. After stealing the ball from one kid, he decided to kick me. I asked him “What was that for?” and he just kept kicking me. This did hurt, and I was getting mad, so I punched him square in the nose. A duty teacher had been watching the whole thing unfold, and took the now crying kid with her and sent me back to class.
Meh, it’s Friday, and I want to finish up and leave. Later!

Well to add to the boring week I had lots of time to ponder the mysteries of the world. Recently I have become fascinated with folklore, mythology, and Religion.
To me all of these have the same base. Some people going “Hey I think something just created us.” Then another person said “No I think…” And thus religion was born. Well of course you can’t have a creation story without a background story, and thus created mythology. Let’s look at Christianity, they made a person named Jesus, (likely a real person, which was kind and helped people.) Jesus went around helping people and created a basis of a religion. It is likely that Jesus himself had no idea that a religion was being created with him at the core. It is likely the same with many other religions. Some hero being hailed as a god or the son/daughter of one.
Folklore can come in many forms; a local legend is the most common. A local legend has the habit of becoming a large legend when a tribe or village comes into contact with another village for trading or war the legends spread and exaggerate.

Week200

Uneventful, Boring, Humdrum (Weird word right?), Run of the mill (Huh?), Mediocre, All the words that can describe my week.
First we started our week with an art project where we designed a snowboard. That was about all the interesting things.
The Olympics! Now that was fun, those two weeks. One the first week we had a gold per day, that was cool. The big game, the game that all of Canada watched. The game was so tense that there was screaming, cheering, and chanting, though we were in Maui. Never before had a sport game been so tense, and when the American scored we were booing him like no to morrow. Then Crosby scored and we started cheering! When we walked to the pool proudly wearing our Canada shirts. An American opened his window and started swearing at us. We just laughed at him. A Canadian drove by and started cheering with us. This proved our theory that half of Vancouver was in Hawaii.
Well the olympics werwe fun, but now thats undone. Now the paralympics are here!
One Week and we are Gone
February5
The week of multitasking. I have gone curling for the last time this week. Curling was more fun this time. We played a game, and our team won. The player on the team that you would not expect was the one that scored the point. She knocked a rock into the house, hitting the opposing team’s rock out of the blue ring and ended up about five centimetres closer than the blue rock. (That actually isn’t that much.)
For science we did a cool thing with pendulums. We put a bottle on a string and filled it different levels to see how many times it would swing in fifteen seconds, and how long it would swing in total. We also rolled soup cans down the hall, which was a very fun experiment. The soup cans rolled about 10 metres on average, but a few rolled around 20 metres.
We have the Olympic wiki, which now has three podcasts ready to be embedded. Ms. W ran into a problem with the bandwidth amount allowed to be put on the wiki and how much we want to use. Now we have to upgrade the wiki to the super plan. For our wiki we have Mandarin, Korean, English, and we have Dutch waiting to be recorded. For the wiki we are trying to put a PowerPoint, a few paragraphs, two or more podcasts, some links, and a few pictures. All that my group needs is the podcasts embedded and the PowerPoint done. We are happy with our progress due to the Olympics being in one week.
Our buddies want to have some fun with Valentines, but they didn’t have any bags to put the Valentines in! The disaster was averted by calling in our class to help them make bags. My buddy just randomly pasted stuff on his. It was amusing to watch him have fun.
Well, I have wrapped up the stuff in my memory for the week right now. Let’s wait till next time

Cooooollllldddddddd. Time to shiver after spending a few hours inside of a curling rink, and to make it worse it was raining outside.
Our week was mostly uneventful until our little buddies came on Wednesday. The Buddies came with troops of mascots to play games on to their hearts content. Well the teacher had to intervene and get a coloring page. We were to teach the little ones how to say and know each of the mascots but my buddy already knew them. Good for him.
Curling looks simpler than it is. We played a mock game called “throwing the rock down the rink”. I was actually hoping we would get more involved. Well that’s all for me today, Monkey out.
